Congress dinner
Congress dinner will be on 9 September 19-23 in the Olde Hansa
Restaurant (http://www.oldehansa.ee)
in the Old Town of Tallinn. Very exceptional medieval atmosphere and
service; visit the restaurant’s homepage! Price 48 EURO/person (750
EEK/person) should be prepaid together with the registration fee. The
Estonian Marine Institute will subsidize this exceptional event for
those who register and pay before 1 July 2004. The number of
participants is limited to 270, and late (after 1 July 2004) or on-site
purchase of tickets (at ~55 EURO/person) is therefore not guaranteed.
No refunds available, but substitutions are allowed.
“In case very important and
honourable guests are visiting, a reception that corresponds to their
status can be made in Olde Hansa. Guests from the Town Government are
treated with special respect. The Herald of the house, together with
musicians, meets the guests already at the gates of the town. While
enjoying the sound of the drum and the bagpipe the procession comes to
the old marketplace where the arrival of noble guests is announced to
all citizens. The Herald takes care of the feast: tends to honourable
guests and makes explanations about the food and drinks. The feast that
is full of surprises culminates with the pride of medieval cooking - a
fabulous illusion dish. In case the honourable appreciate music, they
can also order a performance by the choir of the household.
Under the guidance of the
Herald is held the most majestic mediaeval party ever seen.
At the end of the
fabulous feast each guest receives a certificate by the Rewal Town
Government.”
