UPDATING IN PROGRESS!
The XI European Congress of Ichthyology will be held in Tallinn,
Estonia on 6-10 September 2004 (Congress tour on 11 September 2004, and
post-congress excursion to western islands on 12-13 September). The
scientific program will include the following sessions and symposia:

Please note that topics above can be rearranged (renamed, merged,
converted into a poster session) depending on the number and content of
the finally registered presentations. The final programme will appear
in the Congress homepage in July 2004.

Registered participants are invited to present an oral or/and poster
presentation. ELECTRONIC ABSTRACT SUBMISSION WILL BE OPENED IN EARLY
JANUARY 2004 on www.sea.ee/ECI. Contributors of presentations are
invited to submit a manuscript for publication in the electronic
journal of the European Ichthyological Society, following a peer-review
process (see http://ichthyology.tau.ac.il/).
Organizers of some symposia are considering publication of manuscripts
in other peer-reviewed journals.
The number of participants is limited to 400. To ensure your
participation, please register before 1 July 2004. Only those who have
paid their registration fee will be considered as registered
participants. Space and time limitations may restrict the number of
contributions per registered participant.

6 Є per day can be prepaid together with the registration fee and will
be served in the Hermes Hotel restaurant.

Get-together
In the hotel Hermes Restaurant, on Sunday 5 September at 18.30. Price
is included in the registration fee (also for accompanying persons),
except for strong drinks and additional beer/wine (available at very
reasonable price in the bar).
Congress dinner
Congress dinner will be on 9 September 19-23 in the Olde Hansa
Restaurant (http://www.oldehansa.ee)
in the Old Town of Tallinn. Very exceptional medieval atmosphere and
service; visit the restaurant’s homepage! Price 48 Euros per person
should be prepaid together with the registration fee. The Estonian
Marine Institute will subsidize this exceptional event for those who
register and pay before 1 July 2004. The number of participants is
limited to 270, and late (after 1 July 2004) or on-site purchase of
tickets (at ~55 Euros per person) is therefore not guaranteed.
Excursions
We are glad to offer you a possibility to explore
more of Tallinn and Estonia during your stay.
All tours start in front of the Hermes Hotel; however, in most cases,
pick-up at hotels reserved for Congress participants will be possible.
Please look for the bus marked “ECI XI” and the name of the excursion.
Registration for the tours must be made in advance on the electronic
registration form. All reservations that are not guaranteed with
advance payment will be cancelled.
